Get amongst the fun and join our manu competition this summer to win prizes and become the Christchurch City Council manu champion!
Pack your togs, towel, sunscreen and gather your mates - show us what you’ve got this summer.
Five heats are being held at our pools across the city ahead of the grand final on Saturday 8 February at Jellie Park:
- Friday 29 November at Te Pou Toetoe Linwood Pool from 7pm to 9.30pm
- Sunday 8 December at Jellie Park from 12pm to 2pm
- Friday 13 December at Te Pou Toetoe Linwood Pool from 7pm to 9.30pm
- Sunday 15 December at Te Hāpua Halswell Summer Pool from 12pm to 2pm
- Sunday 12 January at Waltham Summer Pool from 12pm to 2pm
- Saturday 8 February at Jellie Park from 12pm to 2pm (Grand Final)
Enter the manu competition in one of four categories:
- Child manu - 8-12 years (as of March 2025)
- Youth manu – 13-17 years (as of March 2025)
- Adult manu – 18+ (as of March 2025)
- Freestyle - Open ages - For any other jumps that are not specifically Manu (include Te Korirā (The Gorilla), Te Pōpo Repo (The cannonball), Te Tēpara (The Staple), Te Kāwhena (The Coffin).
At the end of the competition season, the top three queens or kings of the manu will be awarded an official trophy and prizes. Spot prizes will also be distributed throughout the competition.
Better yet - the winners of the Christchurch City Council manu competition will get free entry to the Z Manu World Championships Ōtautahi Christchurch heat at Jellie Park in February!
